Our Institute, the International Strategic Management Institute is a professional body of noble but strategic minds that is primarily focused at sharpening and provoking positive thinking using strategic management tools in various endeavours.

In today’s competitive world, general management knowledge has become insufficient for optimum performance and efficiency in any human organization. The need to deploy strategic thinking is to gain advantage over other competitors has become imperative. The necessity in what all teachers of strategy thinking including our institute teach and preach.

Our governments in Nigeria and at all levels are no doubt interested in impacting on the lives of our people. They express at all times their desire to improve our economy, build our infrastructure and build an enviable society. That we are not where we are or have not achieved these desirable goals means that obstacles stand on the way. To therefore overcome the challenges, the need to develop strategic thinking, strategic planning and strategic implementation has become very compelling.

A holistic approach must be taken on the on-going in-parse to halt the development in pension fund, aviation industry and petroleum industry over allegations and counter allegations on monumental corruption.

Nigeria can certainly not grow with this type of continuous news of corruption.

Transparency must not only be observed but be seen to be practiced to the later in both public and private sectors of our Economy.

Ministry of finance and indeed all Nigerians must rise to its challenges to stop forthwith the misappropriation of funds that have tarnished Nigerians image and hindered our development.

Our institute, the international strategic management institute is willing to collaborate with governments at all levels. As it is with government and the public sector, so it is with the private sector.  Entrepreneurs, Industrialists, Professional bodies, Labour Unions and Leaders in all the sectors must embrace strategic thinking as a tool for transformation.

As Strategic Management Practitioners, our Institute is able and willing to help crack hard nuts, unravel mysteries and demystify all complex threats to the lives and progress of Institutions or Individuals, be they private or public.

I like to congratulate all members of ISMI for the First Conference and also congratulate those who will be joining this prestigious organization today as Fellows, Associate Fellows and Certified Member. I have no doubt that by joining us; you are already equipped to compete more favourably in your chosen careers and life endeavours.
