Presidential flag bearer of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), Otunba Owolabi Odebudo, has promised to reposition the party for a robust political future, urging the erstwhile leader of the party, Great Ogboru, who recently defected to the Labour Party (LP), to have a re-think and return to his former party.
Odebudo, who emerged DPP’s presidential candidate at its special convention in Abuja, where his candidature was endorsed, encouraged Ogboru should return to his old fold as his presence is still needed in the party.
In a statement made available to our rporttr, Odebudo, a two-time gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State, in 2007 and 2011 elections respectively, and currently Chairman of Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), Ogun State chapter, also urged other aggrieved DPP members, who had left the fold, to have a rethink and return to the party, which he described as one big family.
He maintained that DPP needs the cooperation of everyone to take the party to the next level by winning various positions in 2015 general elections and give Nigerian the type of government they need.
Odebudo said, “I’ll ensure that our great party is repositioned to win various positions in 2015 general elections. I’m very confident that DPP will win the presidential election and many other positions next year.”
